Hi Everyone,
I do hope you enjoyed last week’s C&V special , where we looked at the many charities the Queen supported over her 70 year reign. Normal service resumes this week, with all the latest going on’s locally in the Charity and Voluntary Sector world.
All the Best
James 🙏
It has been a busy time as usual, the last few weeks for the infant and baby loss charity Forever Stars, with a Car Boot Sale at The Boat and Horses Pub in Beeston Rylands, an Eighties Night at Chilwell Manor Golf Club, a sponsored hike and a number of entrants in today’s Robin Hood Half Marathon, all bringing much needed funding to the Charity and it’s vital support services. You can sponsor some of the runners here : https://www.gofundme.com/f/abbie-romeana-sadie-run-a-half-marathon?member=18989285&sharetype=teams&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer
Good luck to all runners today, and I hope you raise lots of money for all the various charities being supported.

We can help.
Well done to Stapleford Fire Station who beat Broxtowe South Police: Beeston, Chilwell, Stapleford and surrounding areas today at the match on Pasture Road Recreation Ground.
The game ended in a draw so it went to penalties which the Fire Brigade won.
Thank you to James Gregory Jambo who made an excellent Referee.
Thank you to Pegasus Y.F.C Stapleford for facilitating the game today.
Thank you to Stapleford Town Football Club who very kindly donated the Trophy and made a kind donation to the fundraising as well.
It was great to be able to support Broxtowe Women’s Project Ltd with the White Ribbon Campaign and I have asked about a football match to raise awareness of this, will update once that is organised.
Thank you to The Helpful Bureau who also came along today.
Thank you to the Mayor of Stapleford, Councillor Jan Goold and the Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor David Grindell for coming to support the event.
Thank you to Coucillors Norman Bradley, Pip Hallam-Davies and Bob Brown for coming along to show support as well.
Thank you to Claire Brice who kindly donated ice creams to the winning team.
Thank you to those who made donations which will be added up and split between the Fire Brigade to help those injured in the line of duty and to support the foodbanks at the Church at Montrose Court and The Haven Church and Community Centre.
We raised £175.37 total, thank you to those who made a donation. STAPLEFORD COMMUNITY GROUP will round this up to £200 so we can donate £100 to each cause.
We have already been asked by both teams to make this an annual event so will most definitely be back next year.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support the event today, it really is appreciated and thank you to those who kindly helped to promote the event on social media to help get the word out.
