Services Affected by the Bank Holiday

Following the announcement that Monday 19th September will be a bank holiday for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, there will be some changes to opening hours and bin collections.

Changes to Bin Collections

Arrangements for collections are NOT the same as they normally are for bank holidays. If your bin is due to be collected on Monday 19th September, your bin will now be collected on Saturday 17th September. Please make sure your bin is out for 6.30am on Saturday.

If your bin is collected on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, your collection won’t change, so please put your bin out as normal.

We will only be offering emergency out of hours services.

No Monday Market

Out of respect for the national mourning period, we have taken the decision to cancel Beeston Market on Monday 19th September, the day of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

This will allow local people an opportunity to lay floral tributes, or pause for reflection in a quiet and peaceful environment. The market will resume as normal on Monday 26th September.

Recycling Centres

All recycling centres will be closed on Monday 19th September. They will reopen on Tuesday 20th September.

Other services managed by Nottinghamshire County Council that are affected can be found on their website.
